Combining relaxed bathing with a facial treatment takes the whole feel good factor another level further. Facial masks can work wonders to refresh, recreate and rejuvenate your facial skin due to the moisturizing, cleansing and stimulating nourishment with various ingredients for just the right occasion and skin type. Proper implementation prevents early skin aging and wrinkle build up.
Clay, moor and mud masks suit oily skin types and have a deep cleansing effect, while cream-based masks tend to suit dry and sensitive skin types with a moistrizing and re-vitalizing effect.
The effect is a smooth and even skin, resilient and vital to recreate from or prepare against everyday strains, dry or poluted air, heat or cold weather or the impact of business day exhaustion to your skin.
In general steaming the face over a bowl with hot water stimulates the skins blood circulation, opens up the pores and increases absorption of the facial mask’s inherent ingredients. Sit at a comfortable place outside the bathroom, cap with a large towel to keep the steam hot enough for an ca. 5-10 min. facial steam bath. Lift the towel a bit if the steam is too hot. Add herbs such as sage, rosemary or camomile to refine and accentuate the steam and benefit.
Next to finding the right facial masks and scrubs provided by the industry, and there sure are superb ones, it feels just natural, fun and more intuitive to mix and create my own at home and let fresh ingredients without preservatives benefit me.

- If you have a sensitive skin, first test out new mask ingredients on a small area of the skin, to check for intolerances and irritations.
- Be cautious and don’t use breakable containers like glass or ceramics nor knifes or other careful to handle items in the bathroom, since the surfaces there are hard, too narrow for placing much, more slippery and your body more exposed to risks of injury.
